OLD PROFESSION, NEW FEE

Nevada's hidebound lawmakers are finally going after prostitution in
their state. Well, not really ... but one Las Vegas Democrat has
proposed a $5 surcharge on all, ummm, transactions, which he says will
boost the state's economy by $2 million. While you finish doing the math
on how many rendezvous there are annually in Nevada (answer: a lot),
it's worth noting that most bordellos charge a minimum of about $100 to
$200 for their services, and don't object much to the suggested tax.
Five bucks is a paltry thing next to the prices some people are willing
to pay in the Silver State.

Archangel.
Real change you can count on would be to charge the going State sales
tax for the 'transaction'. Even at a 5% sales tax rate, that would
double the revenue for a $200 'transaction'.

Just trying to help out...;-)

Well if we could just get democrats to pay their share of income taxes
we would not have a budget problem.
