Deuteronomy 18:9-14: "When thou art come into the land which the LORD
thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations
of those nations. There shalt not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a
charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a
necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the
LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive
them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers
of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not
suffered thee so to do."

So God is against astrology, the "observing of times." Obviously there
is a lot of that going on today. Look through any National Enquirer and
you will find column after column of advertisements for astrologers and
many of these are in there week after week. Membership in lodges and
secret societies such as Knights of Columbus, Masons, Oddfellows, Elks,
and B'naii B'riith should be considered occultism too. Many experts
consider these lodges to be modern day Baal worship. God told us we are
not to turn away from serving God to serving other gods, such as Baal.
For any one wanting deliverance from the sins of occultism, here's a
good website: http://www.religion-cults.com/deliverance/occult.htm

That's why in some fundamentalist Muslim countries, weather
prognostication is not allowed.

Despite the science, its considered a form of divination.
