A lot is being made lately in the media about John Edwards' affair.
But what about the numerous affairs that John McCain has had
throughout his life? He is said to have had numerous affairs while he
was in the military, and that should have been "conduct unbecoming an
officer" but McCain always got out of everything because he was the
son of an admiral and grandson of another. McCain admits to numerous
affairs while still married to his first wife. McCain says he goes to
a Baptist church while in Phoenix, but how often has that been in the
last year or two? Probably rarely. He's a Baptist who refuses to get
baptized by immersion in water. Morally he has been known from about
the age of 12, when his mother noticed he changed from the nice boy he
had been earlier, as hotheaded, quick to fight, for profanity, heavy
drinking and affairs. Intellectually lazy. He graduated from college
near the bottom of his large graduating class mainly because he, much
like George W. Bush, partied his way through college while hardly
bothering to open a book. His recent comment about the "Iraq-Pakistan
border" should tell us something about his education. Since being in
Congress he was known in the 1980s for his involvement in the Keating
5 lobbyist scandal and in recent years for his Vickie Iseman lobbyist
and sex scandal. As far as his involvement in the military he is known
for crashing five airplanes, whether the reason being being an awful
pilot or often hungover isn't clear. He was finally promoted to
captain just prior to his release from the military, largely again
because of being the son of an admiral and grandson of another, so he
really didn't get much experience in as a top officer at all. And one
thing a soldier should learn from experience in the military is that
war is serious business and should be the last resort. Apparently
McCain didn't learn that because he has supported every war the US has
been involved in in modern times. I mean he's an old politician, but
so were Donald Rumsfeld and Richard Cheney. Just being an old, crooked
politician doesn't make you ready to lead the United States. See
