Usenet : HTTP bug in Wikipedia, Google Groups, or news readers

Here is what looks like a BUG when an HTTP link points to a URL (such
as Wikipedia) that contains the underscore followed by parentheses :
( )

While reading Usenet news from within Google Groups, or possibly other
news readers (Web hosted or not), when clicking on the link, HTTP does
not see the ending parenthesis ")" and the link fails.

Feel free to re-post to the appropriate forum.

Thanks.

Trying HTTP links to Wikipedia URLs that contain the underscore ; and
round brackets or parentheses: ( )

BUG :http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mud_(gruppo_musicale)
This link ought to work fine - from within a (Web hosted) Usenet news
reader or Google groups :http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mud

This is a feature that has been pretty well known for years - it seems to
be a fairly ubiquitous effect in many programs, not merely web browsers
and newsreaders. But as a trailing ) is something that Wikipedia is
almost unique in using for the construction of URLs, it might be more
realistic to consider it a Wikipedia bug ...

Meanwhile, encode the trailing ) to %29 to get it to work, eg
