Another story our "news" media is hardly reporting on. CNN reported a
humorous story about how big the new budget is, with no specifics
whatsoever. Fox News admitted the budget cuts $3.7 billion in
education. This budget is huge, with most of it borrowed money. This
budget promotes nuclear energy development while cutting environmental
programs. This budget raises military spending by over 10%, to $785
billion from $450 billion when Bush took over, while cutting low
income energy assistance, and effectively cutting Medicare, Medicaid,
and medical help to poor children by close to $100 billion. American
Hospital Association President Rich Umbdenstock said, "Today's budget
is devastating news for children, seniors and the disabled who depend
on the Medicare and Medicaid programs. They are being unfairly singled
out to carry the burden of achieving a balanced budget" (AP/
Philadelphia Inquirer, 2/6).

I'm not endorsing the budget but who do where do we cut spending? There is
'X' amount of money which can be spent so if there isn''t enough then what
programs do you suggest we slow down?
