The western press is trying to give the false message that Georgia is
a model of democracy. Georgia was wealthy in the days of the Soviet
Union, but now over half it's people live in poverty. But the wealthy
class is getting richer and richer under Mikhail Saakashvili's
policies, which are very similar to those of the American Republican
Party and George W. Bush. Saakashvili won re-election in January under
charges of a rigged election. He got 20% more votes than polls were
predicting. One of his political opponents was assassinated in London
and two others were arrested. See http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/aug2008/saak-a18.shtml

After hearing these true stories of Saakashvili's Mafia ties, and the
clever way his Georgian opposition does politics by polls instead of
bothering with elections, I am sure the Geogian people would love to have
American Democrat party operatives come in an reorganize their political
system to make it come more in line with the way things are done in
Chicago.

And the rich in Russia proper are the government elite and the
underworld crime syndnicates that for all intensive purposes
practically run that country
