ROME (UPI) -- A group of female lawyers is suing the Italian brewing
company Birra Peroni for sexism for a TV commercial that makes fun of
women's driving abilities.

The commercial shows a young woman a century ago struggling to park
her horse and carriage, while two beer-drinking men look on, laughing.
It then cuts to the present and shows the same woman having trouble
parking her car, eventually leaving it jutting into the road.

As two smug men watch as they sip bottles of Peroni, a voiceover
remarks, "Fortunately some things don't change."

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of the lawyers by Laura Vasselli of Rome,
is the first ever against a company for such a commercial in the
Italian courts.

"Peroni obviously thinks the whole thing is a joke, but we shall see
who is left laughing when the judge decides," Vasselli told The Daily
Telegraph of London.
